Bookkeeper

Music & Entertainment Accountancy Practice | London | £30,000–£33,000 | Hybrid

The Role

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for a portfolio of clients, supporting with day-to-day bookkeeping and working closely with the wider accounting team. You will work with a varied client base across the music, entertainment and creative industries, giving you exposure to a range of interesting businesses and individuals.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients

• Processing sales and purchase invoices

• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations

• Maintaining accurate ledgers and financial records

• Processing expenses and payments

• Accounts payable and receivable

• Assisting with VAT returns

• Supporting with month-end processes

• Preparing basic management information and reports

• Liaising with clients regarding bookkeeping queries

• Working closely with accountants and managers to ensure accounts are accurate and up to date

• Assisting with ad-hoc accounting tasks when required

About You

• Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally within an accountancy practice

• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping

• Experience with bank reconciliations and maintaining ledgers

• Good attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients

• Good communication and client-facing skills

• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar

• A proactive approach and willingness to learn

• An interest in working within the music, entertainment or creative industries

Music or entertainment experience is desirable but not essential.
