Investment Analyst | Music & Alternative Credit
Hybrid
London
60-70k
I’m working with an exciting and growing music investment business that is looking to appoint an Investment Analyst to join its London-based investment team.
This is a particularly interesting opportunity for an analyst with a background in credit, structured finance, private credit or specialty finance who wants to apply their financial modelling and underwriting experience to one of the more unusual asset classes around: music royalties and intellectual property.
The role will play a key part in evaluating and structuring transactions that enable artists and rights holders to unlock the value of their catalogues, while ensuring investments are underwritten with a rigorous, data-driven approach.
What you’ll be doing:
• Build detailed financial models and cash-flow forecasts to assess proposed investments
• Underwrite future royalty streams across streaming, performance, sync, mechanical and neighbouring rights
• Assess catalogue quality, historical performance, ownership, territorial splits and concentration risks
• Model base, downside and stress scenarios, including expected recoupment timelines and residual value
• Support the structuring of transactions, including advance sizes, fees, waterfalls and other deal mechanics
• Prepare investment memoranda and present recommendations to an investment committee
• Monitor existing investments against projected royalty receipts and identify underperformance or emerging risks
• Work closely with legal, operations and music-industry specialists throughout the investment process
• Develop and refine valuation models and analytical tools as the platform continues to grow
What I’m looking for:
• 2–5+ years’ experience in credit analysis, underwriting, portfolio management, banking, specialty finance, private credit or structured finance
• Strong financial modelling, cash-flow forecasting and scenario analysis skills
• A solid understanding of credit underwriting and risk assessment
• Experience analysing cash-flow or asset-backed lending transactions
• Strong ability to interpret contracts and ownership documentation
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to turn complex analysis into clear investment recommendations
• High attention to detail and a thoughtful, commercially minded approach to assessing both upside and downside
Experience within music, entertainment, media, IP financing, royalty administration or catalogue investment would be highly desirable, as would exposure to securitisation, asset-backed lending or other long-duration/residual-value credit products.
