Accounts Senior / Semi-Senior

Location: Sheffield
Working pattern: Full-time, office-based (5 days per week)

About the Role

We are looking for an Accounts Senior or strong Semi-Senior to join an established accountancy practice in Sheffield.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least two years' experience working within an accountancy practice, ideally three or more, who is looking to develop their technical skills and progress their career.

The successful candidate will work with a varied portfolio of clients, supporting the delivery of accounts and wider practice services.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.

• Preparing management accounts and financial reports.

• Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax returns.

• Preparing VAT returns and ensuring deadlines are met.

• Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting and financial queries.

• Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciliations.

• Managing workloads effectively to meet client deadlines.

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

About You

• At least 2 years' accountancy practice experience, ideally 3+ years.

• Experience preparing accounts for a range of clients.

• Good knowledge of accounting principles and relevant legislation.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.

• Good communication skills and a client-focused approach.

• Confident using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• AAT qualified, part-qualified ACA/ACCA, or qualified by experience.
